Stay until the light is gone.
A golden hour engagement session along the river in Bend, Oregon.
BEND, OREGON · ENGAGEMENT PHOTOS
From golden hour to blue.
Cedar and Gab met me beside the river in Bend, Oregon, with the last of the afternoon light still coming through the trees.
We started in the warmth of golden hour and stayed as the sun disappeared, the colors cooled down, and everything got a little quieter. There was something really sweet about the way these two were together. Nothing felt like it needed to be forced. They laughed, wandered along the river, held onto each other, and mostly just let me follow along.
By the end of the evening, they were in the water in their clothes; which might have been my favorite part.
WHEN THE SUN WENT DOWN
We kept going.
Blue hour has a completely different kind of magic than golden hour. The warmth disappears, the landscape gets quieter, and photographs start to feel a little less polished and a little more like a memory.
So we stayed.
And somewhere along the way, Cedar and Gab decided to get into the river- outfits and all. It was playful and spontaneous and very them, which is usually when my favorite photographs happen anyway.
Sometimes the best thing you can do for a session is stop worrying about keeping everything perfect.
BEND + CENTRAL OREGON WEDDINGS
Getting married out here?
Bend has a way of making the landscape feel like part of whatever is happening. The rivers, pine forests, high desert, Cascade views, and long summer evenings give us a little bit of everything without having to go very far.
I was born and raised in Central Oregon, so photographing weddings here feels a little like coming home. Whether you're getting married at a venue in Bend, gathering everyone in Sunriver or Sisters, or planning something somewhere out toward the Cascades, I want the photographs to hold onto more than what the place looked like. I want them to remember what it felt like to be there.
If you're looking for a Bend Oregon wedding photographer or planning a wedding somewhere else in Central Oregon, I'd love to hear what you're dreaming up.
