ALEXA + JACOB · MIDDLEBURG, VIRGINIA

Somewhere out past the fences.

A summer couples session on a farm in the Virginia countryside.

Alexa and Jacob met me on a farm in Middleburg, Virginia, surrounded by open fields, white fences, and the kind of landscape that makes this part of Loudoun County feel completely separate from everything happening a few miles away.

We started while the evening was still warm and let the session unfold from there. No complicated setup, no trying to turn them into something they aren't. Mostly walking through the property, finding good light, and paying attention to the way they naturally fell into each other.

Sometimes that's really all you need.

MIDDLEBURG, VIRGINIA

An evening in horse country.

WHEN THE LIGHT GOT LOWER

The sun dropped, the light softened, and we kept wandering.

Alexa and Jacob didn't need much direction to look like themselves together. A little movement, a little space, and enough time to forget about the camera was plenty.

That's usually what I'm after anyway, not a hundred different poses, but photographs that hold onto the way two people actually move through a place together.

Nothing complicated.

COUPLES PHOTOGRAPHY IN MIDDLEBURG, VIRGINIA

Middleburg is one of my favorite places to photograph people in Northern Virginia because it doesn't take much to find somewhere that feels completely removed from everything else. Horse farms, rolling fields, old stone walls, winding roads, and the foothills of the Blue Ridge give this part of Loudoun County a character that's hard to recreate anywhere else.

For couples photos, that means we have room to actually move. Walk through a field, follow the light, disappear down a gravel road, or spend an evening somewhere that already means something to you.

If you're looking for a Middleburg, Virginia photographer or planning couples or engagement photos somewhere in Loudoun County or Northern Virginia, I'm always more interested in finding a place that feels like you than checking off a list of poses.

Out here, we have room.

The same things that make Middleburg such a good place for an evening like this make it an incredible place for a wedding-the open countryside, historic properties, horse farms, mountain views, and enough quiet tucked between everything to make the day feel like its own little world.

I photograph weddings throughout Middleburg, Loudoun County, and Northern Virginia with the same approach: documenting the people first, letting the place become part of the story, and leaving room for everything that wasn't written into the timeline.
